22nd and 23rd of December: Christmas Preparations

Oh my, I totally forgot to blog yeasterday. My days have been so full of Christmas preparations, that I haven't really had time for picture taking and blogging. I did a normal work day today, and tomorrow I work until one, so the Xmas holiday hasn't begun for me yet. But tomorrow, tomorrow! And finally the autobahn is empty and there's no traffic jams. What a joy!

Today after work we went grocery shopping, and I found these delicious cookies which are just like the piparkakut, that we have in Finland. Yummy! Christmas glögi (traditional Swedish and Finnish warm Xmas drink) and ham we found in IKEA. It's nice to have some traditional treats and foods which we've had every Christmas!

So tomorrow a little bit of working, and after that good food, relaxing and sweeties!

21st of December: Our Christmas Tree

We bought our Christmas tree today. We chose a littlle one, which is still growing, so we can maybe plant it outside later. We wanted a real Christmas tree this year, and not an artificial one. We placed a little moss underneath the tree, lights on the branches and just a few decorations. It turned out so cute and beautiful. This year I finally got an Azalea Christmas flower. Every year I've thought that it would be so nice to have an Azalea at home around Christmas time, but never got to round to getting one. But now I have an beautiful Azalea, and a cute little Christmas tree!

20th of December: Helsinki

I've heard that there's no snow in Helsinki at the moment. So it's the same as here in 's-Heerenberg, dark, grey and black. We might have a little bit more green over here, but no snow anyway. I guess I can stop hoping that we would have a white Christmas in 's-Heerenberg. But Helsinki, you still have hope!

18th of December: The Stairs

Our stairs are finally ready, just on time for Christmas! It took a lot of hours to get them done, and many times I was losing my hope with them, but finally they are ready, and the awful yellow is gone. The stairs would have looked amazing without the stair carpet but with Viiru running them up and down with very little control, it's safer to have the carpet on them.

17th of December: Table Decoration Ideas

I started my new job yesterday, and I'm exhausted! That's why today's post is coming so late. My new job is in Germany, 70 km away from home. I've studied German many many years when I was younger, but haven't used it for years, and now I need to listen to it all day, and try to speak it when ever possible.

Christmas is already next week, and it's time to start planning the table decoration for the big meal. Here are some inspiration photos for the Christmas tables!
